Cortex uses 7 data tools to pull balance details, transaction history, period comparisons, existing reconciling items, and account metadata. It analyzes patterns across periods and generates findings. Each with a type, description, amount, and recommendation for the preparer.

Can I add my own reconciling items?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can confirm AI-created items, dismiss false positives, or add manual items. Item types include TIMING, PERMANENT, ERROR, INTERCOMPANY, and OTHER. Amortizing and accreting items are supported for items that resolve over multiple periods.

How do I know when an account is ready to submit?

The unexplained difference should be $0.00 or within the configured tolerance. All compliance questions must be answered and required attachments uploaded. When everything checks out, click Submit to move the account to PENDING_REVIEW status.

Yes. Each reconciliation supports both functional and entered currency. Tolerance comparisons use functional amounts to ensure consistency. Multi-currency reconciling items track both currencies so nothing gets lost in translation.

The account moves to PENDING_REVIEW. Your controller reviews the AI narrative, checks reconciling items, and verifies attachments. They can approve the account or reject it with comments. If rejected, you get notified with the specific reason so you can address it quickly.
